The emblem of NCC

The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps to groom school and college students comprising Army, Navy and Air Force of the country. The NCC was formed on 15 July 1948 with the National Cadet Corps Act 1948, as a successor of University Corps created under the Indian Defence Act 1917. It is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over the nation. The motto of NCC is 'Unity & Discipline' which was adopted on 23 Dec 1957. In living up to its motto, the NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and moulding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation.

The college has two squadrons of National Cadet Corps – one for boys and second for girls. The training of NCC is an important part of education and it also counts as exceptional qualification in selection of many government and semi-government vacancies.
